What is: Joost TV and Is it Buzzworthy ?

The web is a fickle place. You find one person mentioning a buzz word and the whole fraternity becomes a beehive. Similar is the case with a new application named Joost TV.

What is Joost TV?

Well why not get it from the horse's mouth: "Joost is a new way of watching TV on the internet. With Joost, you get all the things you love about TV, including a high-quality full-screen picture, hundreds of full-length shows and easy channel-flipping."

Yet Another Peer-to-Peer Application?

Not quiet so. Imagine watching an episode of Lost on your computer screen and simultaneously exchanging comments and ideas with others watching the same episode. Bring on the community of enthusiasts and we can have active debates on any number of topics. How about that scene? Did you notice the change in her hair?

Its beta, and not for every one.

It's customary for web 2.0 applications to continue their beta through early user registeration. Most of the channels on their list are not availabe worldwide. Many channels are only viewble in either USA, Canada or UK. It is fair though because the broadband requirements make it very hard to use elsewhere.

Unfortunately, for now its on invite only registeration. So if there is some one out there with an invite, let me know.
